New on-line payment option for families is now available.
Pleasant Grove School is pleased to announce a new program called e-Funds For Schools that allows parents several payment options. Not only do you have the ability to have school payments for the cafeteria, daycare, and other school items automatically withdrawn electronically from your checking account or charged to your credit card, you also have the flexibility to pay at any time through the school's website.
You are in full control of your account and can make a payment at any time that is convenient for you. No payments will be allowed without your knowledge and authorization through this secure payment system. By providing your home and/or work email address, an email notification informing you of the student’s name, purpose of the payment, and the amount of the item will be sent to you each time that a payment is to be processed.

Please visit the e-Funds For Schools website at https://eps.mvpbanking.com/cgi-bin/efs/login.pl?access=55500

LOOK WHAT'S NEW - TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTENTop of Page

California’s children start kindergarten at a younger age than kids in almost any other state, often without the maturity and the social, early literacy, and pre-math skills they need to meet the challenges of kindergarten.  At the same time, California has some of the highest standards for what we expect our children to learn in kindergarten.

Transitional Kindergarten is a two year kindergarten program that builds a bridge between the preschool years and kindergarten.

With the increasingly academic demands of Kindergarten, some parents wonder if their children are ready for the traditional Kindergarten program.  Transitional Kindergarten, TK, is designed for (but not restricted to) students who turn 5 between September 1 and December 2 and may not be socially, developmentally, and/or academically ready for traditional Kindergarten.

This program will provide children with the gift of time to build necessary social, developmental, and academic skills for success throughout their school careers. The program is based on California’s Kindergarten Standards with focused instruction in literacy and numeracy along with strong emphasis on self regulation and social engagement.

Important Immunization InformationTop of Page

The California Department of Public Health has sent the following notice to schools.

Pertussis  (whooping cough) is widespread.  If your child 10 years and older has not yet received the “Tdap” pertussis booster shot, please contact your doctor or health department.  Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet a new school requirement that begins in the 2012-13 school year (California law – Assembly Bill354). Please click here for more information.

Adults are also advised to get a pertussis booster shot, if they haven’t already, to protect themselves, their families, and their students.

For the 2012-13 school year, all students entering 7th through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster shot before starting school.
